Gabriel Medina Wins Philippines Pro

Published On: 11/3/2026

Gabriel Medina is back on top. The Monster Energy rider ended a 24-event winless streak with a commanding victory at the inaugural Philippines Pro at Cloud 9, defeating Jack Robinson and closing the gap on world No. 1 Yago Dora as the Tour heads to Pipeline

On Tuesday, Gabriel Medina snapped a 24-event winless streak with a dominant victory at the inaugural Championship Tour event at Cloud 9 in the Philippines. Despite making more finals than any other surfer this season, the Monster Energy athlete arrived as the only top-five competitor without a win, giving him plenty of motivation heading into the event.

After battling through several clutch, last-minute heat victories, Medina advanced to the final against Jack Robinson. He opened with a strong 7.50 before delivering a long, deep, triple-section barrel that earned an impressive 9.43, effectively sealing the win. The performance not only secured his first victory of the season but also proved that goofyfoot surfers can succeed at Cloud 9's world-class right-hand reef break.

With the win, Medina now sits just 1,740 points behind Monster Energy teammate and world No. 1 Yago Dora as the Tour heads to Pipeline, a venue where Medina has already proven he can win. Momentum is on his side as the title race heats up.
