Yago Dora Wins the 2026 Vivo Rio Pro

Published On: 6/26/2026

Yago Dora claims victory at the Vivo Rio Pro in Saquarema with dominant performances, moving into title contention on the WSL Championship Tour.

In the pouring rain at Itaúna Beach, Yago Dora claimed his second CT win at Saquarema (and his fourth overall) at the Vivo Rio Pro. With four of the top five scores of the event, Yago moved through the draw with the rhythm and precision the backwash-riddled beach break demands.

In the semis, he drew fellow Monster team rider Ethan Ewing, and the two put on a performance that made the lackluster conditions look almost inviting. Yago took the win, applying undeniable power surfing to earn the best score of the heat with an 8.17.

He carried that momentum into the final in front of a boisterous Brazilan crowd, facing ratings leader Leo Fioravanti. This time, he took to the air, stomping a lofty backside full-rotation that netted him an 8.5. He backed up that score and then dropped anchor, calmly sitting on priority as the clock ran out.

Final combined score: 15.00. Fans swarmed the shoreline in the rain, carrying their "campeon" to the podium. Yago now sits third in the CT rankings and heads to Tahiti less than a thousand points away from the Yellow Jersey. Let's go!
