The stoke is strong with this one! Hailing from Wānaka, New Zealand, Campbell Melville Ives was raised into a life of shred by his parents, snowboard instructors at New Zealand's legendary Cardrona Alpine Resort. Their main lesson? Ride everything! From the age of 5, Campbell built his skills across all sorts of terrain from powder runs, to halfpipes, all the way to parks. Always finding a session partner in his twin brother, ace freeskier Finley Melville Ives, Campbell devoted every waking moment to snowboarding in his youth – and it shows in his versatile riding and insane learning curve.
After making his World Cup debut in Big Air and pipe in 2022 at Copper Mountain, Campbell entered the Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in all three events; slopestyle, halfpipe, and a bronze-medal finish in Big Air. Meanwhile, most of his victories and podium spots stem from halfpipe comps, including the LAAX Snowboard Halfpipe European Cup and Snowboard Halfpipe World Rookie Tour final.
But regardless of format, unlocking new tricks is all part of the same path toward progression for Cam. And it's on a steep trajectory: In 2025, he landed his first triple cork 1440 and by the end of the season ranked among the few elite athletes throwing both regular and switch triples in the snow halfpipe. Nuts! Drafted to New Zealand's Olympic team and invited to X Games Aspen, the stage is set for Campbell Melville Ives to take over. Just don't say he came out of nowhere!
