Unstoppable progression! Hailing from Wānaka, New Zealand, Luca Harrington took the international freeski stage by storm – and nothing has been the same. Raised on the slopes of Cardrona resort by his American father, a former professional mogul skier, Luca grew up with fellow New Zealander and X Games gold medalist Jossi Wells as stylistic inspiration. Carving his own path as an all-terrain rider, Luca found early success competing in all three freeski disciplines and took halfpipe bronze at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in Lausanne, Switzerland. But behind the scenes, he was already honing his next-level rail and air tricks supported by the Monster Army program.

Next, Luca pretty much took over in the most legendary fashion: He came into X Games Aspen 2025 as an alternate just twelve hours before the competition, and clinched gold in Slopestyle and silver in Big Air with tricks like his signature switch triple 1800 Esco grab and the world’s first-ever triple cork 2160 tailgrab. Mind-boggling stuff! The rest of 2025 continued his epic run with the FIS Freeski Big Air World Championship title and winning New Zealand's first Freeski Crystal Globe trophy.

Officially representing his country in the Olympics, Luca has climbed all the way to the top but he's far from finished. "I'm extremely grateful for every opportunity that skiing has brought me and I'm excited for what’s to come!" Same here, Luca!
