Schareina, Ventura & Price victorious on BP Ultimate/Portugal penultimate Stage 4
FINAL Stage 5 battle set for Sunday… Honda’s Schareina (GP) & Ventura (Rally2) are both in 2nd overall; Monster’s Price (Defender) wins Stage 4 in Stock car class
Following victories for Monster Energy/HRC Rally’s Tosha Schareina (GP class) and Martim Ventura (Rally2) on the penultimate Stage 4 of the BP Ultimate Rally – Portugal, the table’s set for Sunday’s 101 km timed Special (190 km Liaison) final Stage 5 to decide the winners of Round 2 of the 2026 FIM World Rally-Raid Championship.
In addition to the dirt bike competition, Monster Energy’s Sara Price, racing for Defender in the Stock car class at BP Ultimate/Portugal, won Saturday’s Stage 4 and, along with her co-driver Sean Berriman, sit on the overall podium in 3rd position in the class.

For Schareina, Saturday’s stage win was his second of the week in Portugal (and Spain) as the Spanish great was also victorious on the Grandola (Portugal) to Badajoz (Spain) Stage 2 route. He currently sits in 2nd position overall, a close 1:46 back of leader Daniel Sanders (KTM).
“It was a long day,” said Schareina of Saturday’s 501 km (296 timed Special, 205 km Liaison) loop from Badajoz to Badajoz. “Almost ten hours on the bike. The first day without rain, yes, but there were still so many puddles. But it was good. The plan today was to win the stage and to take as much possible time from Daniel (Sanders) as we could.
“For sure we will have a good battle tomorrow.”

Rounding out the Stage 4 podium for Monster Energy/Honda HRC Rally, as has been the case throughout the BP Ultimate/Portugal Rally, was Adrien Van Beveren. The French racer has scored three 3rd place podium finishes and a 2nd place podium in the four stages raced thus far and currently sits comfortably on the overall podium in 3rd position, 6:24 back of Sanders.
Said Van Beveren: “Long day on the bike, over 500 kilometers and ten hours. It was good, fresh and a bit humid, but no rain on the riding. Really slippery terrain, but I enjoyed my day. Portugal is really different than what we’re used to racing (See: Sand/Saudi Arabia), but this was a lot of fun because you had to manage the slides, the grip, the different terrain. Read the terrain properly was very important because at the same time it’s really grippy, it can also be really slippery just like that.”

Also running in the top ten in the GP class on Stage 4 for Monster Energy were Ross Branch (Hero Motosports) with a top five 5th place finish. Branch was followed by Honda HRC Rally teammates Skyler Howes and Ricky Brabec in 7th and 8th positions, respectively.

Winning the support Rally2 class aboard his showroom custom/stock Honda CRF450RX Rally bike was Ventura, who topped overall BP Ultimate/Portugal class leader Bruno Santos (Husqvarna) by 3:47. And with the win Ventura, in 2nd place overall in Rally2, has a mathematical shot at winning the overall, trailing Santos by 8:53 heading into Sunday.
“I wanted to do something special for all the fans who came out,” said Ventura, a Portugal native. “Their support for the sport was amazing. I’m happy. I wanted more this week, but I have to be happy for today. I wanted big things for this race in the future, but this year I wanted big things also. I know I have the rhythm and, from what I’m able to do, I’m happy.
Ventura’s Monster Energy/Honda HRC Rally teammate, Preston Campbell, would place 8th in Rally2’s Stage 4 and currently sits in 7th position overall in the class with one round remaining.
