Born in Orange County, the group Common Kings is made up of four college friends who originally crossed paths at a backyard barbecue around 20 years ago. Led by their Samoan-born Hawaiian lead singer Sasualei “Jr. King” Maliga, the band also includes the talented Samoan guitarist Taumata “Mata” Grey, the Fiji-born bassist Ivan “Uncle Lui” Kirimaua, and Tongan drummer Jerome “Big Rome” Taito, from Los Angeles. With their own record label, Island Empire/Mensch House Records, Common Kings have been sharing their music for over a decade. With multiple albums under their belt, including the Grammy-nominated Lost in Paradise and One Day, they have managed to create a sound that is both refreshing and familiar. Some of their hit songs, like "Wade in Your Water" and "No Other Love," have become fan favorites and amassed millions of streams worldwide. Whether you're new to their music or a longtime fan, Common Kings' infectious rhythms and uplifting lyrics are sure to leave you wanting more.
