Jon "Bones” Jones is an American mixed martial artist and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. He is widely regarded as the best mixed martial arts fighter in the world and as one of the greatest fighters of all time. When he won the title in March 2011 at the age of 23, he became the youngest champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) history. He faced off against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the light heavyweight class and ended up victorious with a guillotine choke hold in the third round. After this win, “Bones” Jones defended the title three times, holding down the title with force. He was ranked as the #1 light heavyweight fighter in the world by various media outlets for a number of years, and was also ranked the #1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world by multiple publications.
